Ooof, sorry mate, you've had a 1-2 punch of it. Unfortunately, no matter how much logic you try to apply, you can't choose whether or who to fall in love with. To adapt a quote, 'like flies to wanton boys are we to the gods - they make us fall in love for their own sport.'
At least a spiral spirals in a direction- up or down. It’s those damn circles that are the worst. It’s a bit of progress, even if they are tight spirals, resembling circles, taking forever to reveal their path.
That’s just a fancy way of saying, I hear you and it sucks and I hope exploring it all here on the page brings some sense of processing.
Regarding the aneurysm, are you on medication for that? Was the expectation that it was a one-time event?
That's actually a great perspective on it, thank you Steve.
On the aneurysm front, since being in the hospital, I've been taking a calcium channel blocker called Nimodipine every four hours. So it's officially been one month since I've last slept more than four consecutive hours without having to wake up to take two of the biggest pills of my life haha.
They're designed for helping increase blood flow in my brain and control the vessel dilation I think? They make me feel incredibly tired on top of being sleep deprived. But my last dose is tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11:30am.
Other than this medication and my body still building up the endurance I used to have, I'm sort in the clear. It appears to have been a one-time event caused by a deformed since birth blood vessel close to my brain stem. There were two angiograms done and no indication of any blood clots or other aneurysms. It was a wake up call to stay on top of my blood pressure though.
All things considered, I'm extremely lucky and glad to be here still trying to write, have friends, fall in and out love and all that messy life stuff.
Thanks for the update on your health. Glad you don't have to keep taking the blocker every four hours as of tomorrow. Glad it's all considered a one-time event. Also glad to have you here to share all that messy stuff with us in your inimitable TMBG way.
